BREAKING: Nigeria to Host First-Ever International Air Show in Abuja, December 2025

 In a major leap for the nation’s aviation and defense industries, the Federal Government has officially announced that Nigeria will host its first-ever International Air Show in December 2025. The groundbreaking event is scheduled to take place in Abuja and is expected to draw participants and spectators from across the globe.


The announcement marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s efforts to position itself as a strategic hub for aerospace development, defense technology, and aviation business in Africa. Government officials say the air show will feature thrilling aerial displays, aircraft exhibitions, innovation showcases, and high-level forums on aviation safety, defense collaboration, and aerospace investment opportunities.


According to a statement released by the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, the air show will include:


*Military and civilian aircraft displays

*Demonstrations from international aerobatic teams

*Exhibitions from aviation companies and manufacturers

*Workshops on aviation technology and policy


Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, described the upcoming event as “a bold step toward placing Nigeria on the global aviation map.”


> “This air show will not only promote tourism and investment but will also inspire young Nigerians to explore careers in aviation and aerospace,” he said.



Industry observers are already hailing the event as a game-changer, with the potential to boost Nigeria’s economic diversification goals, foster international partnerships, and spotlight the country’s growing aviation sector.


The air show is expected to attract participants from at least 40 countries, including aviation giants such as the United States, China, France, and the United Arab Emirates. Preparations are underway to ensure security, logistics, and infrastructure meet international standards.


With Abuja set to become the continent’s aviation focal point come December 2025, excitement is building nationwide for what promises to be a historic and visually spectacular event.
